Jeff Hardy, TNA, Bubba the Love Sponge and more....

Boy a lot has been going on in the wrestling world. First let’s start with Jeff Hardy. I am going to pass along some information.

First, TNA says he is under contract but Jeff’s friends say he is not. And to be honest rumor has it that WWE is still interested in him. This should be interesting. Hardy is facing some hard time with the charges against him. Should be interesting to see who ends up with him and what they do with him if he goes to prison. CM Punk did use his name so he still has some pull in WWE and they know that. On to other news…..

Hogan and Bischoff taking over TNA. Well, let me say this…. I hate it. Kind of reminds me of WCW towards the end.  I mean the “band” is the same old guys who ran WCW to the ground. I mean you tune in to TNA for something different and it has the feeling of the old WCW. Something we have seen and done before.

Also in something I heard this week that TNA told fans how to behave and who to root for. What a bunch of bull. You make the fans root for the people by playing your cards right and you never and I mean never tell fans how to behave. That won’t get them very far. Moving on….

Well, well, Bubba the Love Sponge got knocked out by Awesome Kong. Well good for her. Bubba is a jerk. Not just cause of what he said about Haiti which I think was wrong but just because he is jerk by nature. He has a habit of sticking his nose where it doesn’t belong like in wrestling. He supports Hogan and that by itself tells you that he knows nothing about wrestling. Ya know what… I wasn’t gonna do this but now I am. I am calling Bubba the Jerk out. Yes The Eagle is calling Bubba the Love Sponge out. I dare him to tune in on Tuesday at 9pm and discuss his actions and wrestling on my show. I doubt if he will answer it but I am calling him out.

Due to TNA sending her home and probably the way the company is going Awesome Kong has asked for her release from the company. I don’t blame her at all. WWE has been interested in her before and probably will sign her if she leaves TNA.

Okay for people that are hiding under a rock there is no competition between TNA and WWE because WWE is putting on a much better product. Does TNA have the talent to compete? Why yes they do. But they don’t use them right. Now bring in Hogan is just ruining whatever chance they had.

Finally on to the last subject of this column…. The ending of the Kurt Angle/AJ Styles match on TNA Impact this week. What a joke. First.. neither of them were there when the Montreal Screwjob went down and no one is TNA was involved but Hebner. Mike Tenay asked during the incident if we were witnessing history repeating itself…. Well we were not. What we were watching was TNA copying a storyline from 12 years ago that has recently been brought up in WWE. What a stupid move.

Well that’s all for now. I am The Eagle and this is a birds eye view.

Hogan, Umaga and Bret Hart

Well, it’s been an interesting few weeks in wrestling. First Hulk Hogan signs with TNA. Then Umaga passes away and now Bret “The Hitman” Hart is hosting Raw next week. Wow, what a few weeks.

First, let’s discuss Hulk Hogan and TNA. Personally, I think Hogan needs to stay away from the wrestling world. He has done enough damage already. Now, there is rumor that they are bringing back the NWO with Hall and X-Pac. Combine that with Hogan and Nash and you have the NWO. I don’t know what going to happen now but it can’t be good. Anytime you put Hogan in the picture its bad news. He will destroy TNA single handily. TNA seems to think that Hogan will help the ratings but it won’t. Yes, the first show on January 4th will be up some but after that they will go back to the same.  It will only help the ratings for a short period of time until Hogan gets old like he did in WCW. People will get tired of him. Heck, he hasn’t debuted yet and I am already tired of hearing about him. Dixie Carter has it in her mind that with Hogan TNA can compete with WWE but it won’t happen. WCW had Hogan and couldn’t compete with WWE. Yes, I know WCW and TNA are two different companies with two different goals but lets face it…. TNA cannot and will not compete with WWE. At least not yet. Maybe in a few years but not now and not anytime soon.

Now, on to Umaga passing. What a tragedy it is to see a man so young with so much to offer die like that. He was a great talent and from what I know a great man. Of course as with every wrestling death there are speculations on things but we won’t know anything for a while as to why he died. One thing I did notice was pics put online of him drinking vodka straight from the bottle a week or so before he died. Truthfully that doesn’t mean anything but people are reading into it. The wrestling community is hard on people and we all know that. I don’t think the pics should have been published but you can’t stop them. I know this … you wont see them on The Eagle’s Ring. All I can say is that Umaga will be missed and its shame his last stint as a wrestler had to end this way.

Now, on the good news and the thing that has these birds’ feathers all in an uproar…. The return of Bret “The Hitman” Hart. It’s been 12 long years since Bret has been in the WWE. It should be interesting to see if he and HBK get along this time or if things will start again. From what I am told it’s a short term contract he signed. It starts January 4th and goes thru WrestleMania. I am very excited about this. Without a doubt I cannot wait to watch Monday Night Raw next week to see The Hitman return. These are the type of people TNA should be bringing in… people who HELP the business and bring in crowds and not self centered people like Hogan. This is another reason why TNA will NOT compete with WWE on January 4th. Personally I will be taping TNA and watching Raw but not all have that capability. Bottom line is that Raw is going to be the show to watch next week. Personally I could care less about TNA and Hogan’s debut.
