The Eagle's Ring

 

WWE SmackDown May 15^th

 

We start off the night with John Morrison coming to the ring for his tag team match. He chose CM Punk as his partner.

John Morrison/CM Punk VS Shelton Benjamin/Charlie Haas

As Jim Ross pointed out all 4 of these men are extremely athletic. John Morrison and CM Punk take over the match at first but in true heel fashion Shelton and Charlie take over. Morrison was able to get the tag and Punk comes in taken over on Haas. Shelton interferes but Morrison jumps in and they drop kick both to the outside. Shelton and Charlie take over the match at the expense of John Morrison. Morrison gets the hot tag to Punk and he cleans house. But Punk doesn’t see a tag and Haas gets one up on Punk and takes over the match. It seemed to The Eagle that Jim Ross was really pushing for Haas and Benjamin to get back together on a regular basis. Punk then gets the hot tag and Morrison cleans house. Shelton runs in but Punk knocks him to the outside. Morrison then gets the pin on Haas.

Winner: CM Punk/John Morrison

We come back to Chris Jericho coming out. He grabs a mic. He says this Sunday is Judgment Day and people must pay for their sins. He says there is a conspiracy against him by Teddy Long and the entire locker room. He says SmackDown is his show. He says he will take Rey Mysterio’s  IC Title away from him this Sunday. He says he runs the show. Edge then comes out after Jericho calls out Rey. Edge says he is sick of Jericho’s voice and that everyone is not out to get Jericho but they are out to get him. Edge says he owns SmackDown. Edge then calls out Jeff Hardy. They argue for a few then Teddy Long comes out. He says its neither one of their shows but the WWE Universe’s show. He then announces that Chris Jericho will take on Edge tonight.

Jeff Hardy VS Ricky Ortiz

Ricky takes over the match from the bell and gets a couple of near falls. Jeff Hardy then takes over and gets some offense going. Jeff then nails The Twist of Fate and then the Swanton Bomb to end it. Fairly quick match.

Winner: Jeff Hardy

We come back from a commercial break with Jeff Hardy and Todd Grishom. He says Edge is a creature of habit…. Losing the title at one PPV and then winning it at another then losing again. He says this Sunday he will lose the Worlds Title.

Michele McCool/Alicia Fox VS Gail Kim/ Melina

Michele McCool and Melina start it off but once Melina gets the upper hand Michele tags in Alicia. Then Gail Kim gets tagged in. Michele McCool then takes over and has the upper hand on Kim. Melina then gets the hot tag and clean house. Alicia then interferes and Gail takes her out. Then Melina nails Michele and gets the win.

Winners: Melina/Gail Kim

Jimmy Wang Yang VS Dolph Ziggler

Dolph Ziggler takes over the match. Jimmy gets no offense from the beginning. Finally Jimmy gets some offense and takes over the match for a short time. Ziggler nails his signature move and ends the match.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler

After the match the Great Khali comes out after Ziggler. Ziggler goes after him but Khali just hammers him and knocks him out of the ring.

We come back from a commercial and Cryme Tyme and Maria is standing there. They tell her that Layla was talking about her mom. Maria then attacks Layla and Cryme Tyme breaks its up.

R Truth VS Mike Knox

R Truth gets the upper hand and takes it to the outside. Then Knox gets the upper hand. R Truth then comes back and nails Knox to get the win. Pretty quick match.

Winner: R Truth

We come back from a commercial with Todd Grishom introducing Rey Mysterio. He says Jericho is just running his mouth and that in order to gain respect you have to earn it. He says at Judgment Day he doesn’t have to worry about a conspiracy but the 6:19.

Then we show Jim Ross and Michael Cole in the ring pushing Judgment Day.

Edge VS Chris Jericho

This match goes back and forth in the beginning as expected. Jericho has gets the upper hand. We come back from a commercial with Edge having the upper hand. Edge gets on the Boston Crab and Jericho gets to the ropes. Jericho then puts on the Walls of Jericho on Edge. Edge gets out of it and Jericho brings in the chair. Edge kicks him and Jericho gets the DQ. Edge grabs the chair and goes to nail Jericho but Jeff Hardy comes running in and takes out Edge. Jericho goes after Hardy but Hardy takes him out. Then CM Punks music hits. He comes to the ring with the ref. But Umaga comes in and goes after Punk. Punk takes him out with the briefcase…. They then fight through the crowd. Hardy goes back after Edge. Jericho goes to leave up the ramp when Rey Mysterio comes out and attacks him. We then go off the air.

The Eagles Thoughts

Not a bad SmackDown at all. The ending was crazy and I liked it. It really showed build up for 3 matches going into Judgment Day.
